this is a carrd all about my identity!

read this if you want to know more about who i am, the things i associate with myself, why i kin, who i kin and what the specific characters i kin mean to me personally. this is just a self-indulgent little carrd i thought might be nice making, especially after my friend made one for their personas! :-)

reasoning:
the way he is non-binary and also non-human makes me relate to kiibo. he also went through huge development as a character. starting off as a very insecure robot, he desperately tried to emphasize how "humane" he was. i tried to do the same for some time, making up things and an identity for myself in order to seem "normal" and escape bullying. however, we both realized that our true worth lies in what makes us unique --- his existence as the ultimate robot and my unique experience with my issues.
his looks also really appeal to me and i like thinking that i look like him. he wears headphone-like devices on his ears, just like i always wear my headphones!

kiibo also dreamed of being an idol but gave up because of his singing. i used to really want to be a musician and be onstage, but i realized my true skills are much more technical and precise, which is why i'm an aspiring audio engineer now!

reasoning:
i started kinning komaeda when i had just realized i was trans and gay. komaeda as a character exists completely outside of any boxes the other characters might fit in! he manages to warp reality with his abilities but also his thinking. he thinks a lot for himself, and i do too. his excessive monologues remind me of me, and the way he constantly mentions his ways and paths of thinking, which tend to be black and white. despite all of his problems, what he searches for and truly connects with is hope, and i also connect with positive things no matter how dark times may be!
but, more than anything, these qualities have gotten him in trouble. his classmates distanced themselves from him and yet still relied on his input. he pushed the one he loved most away, i tend to do this a lot because of bullying and trust and abandonment issues.

koyuki is a very kind boy, and i aspire to be like him so much. maybe that is mainly the reason i kin him! between all of the issues i have that are embodied in my komaeda kin, i also just wish to be as soft and gentle as koyuki. he embodies my softer side towards my loved ones.

reasoning:
aiko embodies something oddly deep within me for having had such little screen time. she wears soft, comfortable clothes and keeps her hands close to herself --- she's protective and introverted. she looked unbothered and nonchalant at first, trying to keep up an image that obviously doesn't reflect her true self, maybe because she's scared of her peers. i like to think she is very happy on the inside and just hesitates to show it! that very much is me.

reasoning:
hanamaru can be self-deprecating at times, but she always has her friends by her side. she is very naturally just herself and tells others when she doesn't understand something. my neurodivergence makes it hard to understand "obvious" things for me as well and i strive to be as honest as her about it. also, she seems to know just what her friends need and i wish to do so too. hanamaru just is someone i'd like to have more of!

reasoning:
dipper immerses himself in that which he loves most --- the mysterious, and science. he really wants to be known as someone who knows all about these topics and is insecure when he notices that he doesn't.
bipper finds pain hilarious and constantly pushes the limits of the vessel he's in. he is also a demon, which corresponds with my demonkin!

infos:
fights and screams a lot, and is left-handedvery quiet, doesn't talk much, but is humorousa casually androgynous character
reasoning:
link can be loud when fighting, but is fairly quiet when talking to others. he seems to be very introverted and have a world of his own --- he often experiences things others wouldn't believe him. he also has a lot of humour and shows this through his gestures, thoughts, and dialogue options.
he is also an incredibly free character and can go anywhere, which is something i admire!

reasoning:
kanata is a very calm oddball, but feels suffocated without that which he adores. he has a very strong connection to water and marine life, which defines his identity. he also speaks in an unusual manner, and very slowly. sometimes i just feel like kanata. like i am slightly floating and just at peace and right where i should be, surrounded by what i understand and love.

infos:
has an intense interest in what he lovesdoesn't understand others' emotions, is engulfed in his own worldis very accepting, interested, and polite towards the others, and seperates his views from those of others
reasoning:
kiyo appears as a polite, if a little distanced person, just like me! inside, he is very excitable and curious though, since he gets very talkative and giddy about what he loves most --- folklore. he enjoys teaching others about it and studies others' emotions constantly, though he knows he is vastly different from them and even actively distances himself and his views from others. his manners and the way he talks is something i adapt sometimes as well!

reasoning:
behind the ways he has hurt the others, sou has contributed very much emotionally to the cast and cared for namely kanna. though his motives and reasoning can be illogical, he has good intentions all while fighting his own inner conflict. the softness of his character resonates with me and i've also lied to cope with conflicting situations! though i do not condone his manipulative tactics, i understand him. he tends to show his true nature with actions rather than words, and it shows he does not want to hurt or hate anybody, in the end.

when he is first seen in the game, ranmaru is bleeding and states that he doesn't feel anything and slips away peacefully, which correlates with my connection to blood and pain! he also is less intimidating and nonchalant than he seems, while still keeping his cool image. :-)
